Applying paint, stain, or clear finishes to two-sided items such as doors can take a lot of time if you coat one side and wait for it to dry completely before coating the other side. Instead, cut your time investment in half by coating one side, setting that side on wood scraps with screws protruding from them, and then coating the opposite side. When making these small pedestals be sure to countersink the screw heads on the bottom face of the scraps. The screw tips will leave barely visible indents in the finish, so coat last the face of the project that shows the most.
