A framing square makes a great drill-press fence

Looking for an effective drill-press fence capable of helping you repeatedly drill multiple holes in two directions? Look no further than your carpentry tools...

Here’s a quick way to accurately drill holes in the same locations in multiple workpieces. Initially, mark the locations of the holes on your first piece. Align the drill bit with the centerpoint of a hole, and clamp the frame to the drill-press table so it cradles the workpiece. Drill the first hole and use spacers between the framing square and workpiece to position subsequent holes as necessary. Now drill subsequent holes without marking them; the square and spacers will place them precisely from piece to piece.
